The Boston Harbor Association is the leading non-profit, public

 Boston Harbor, and is committed to providing free programming for the
 general public and students to learn about Boston Harbor and the

"Back to the Beaches" at Spectacle Island
Join The Boston Harbor Association (TBHA) for one of The Boston Harbor Association's free harbor cruises to Spectacle Island. TBHA served on the Citizens Advisory Committee which helped plan the island, and visitors will learn about the island's unique history and also have the opportunity to enjoy Boston Harbor's newest beach. See how DCR and the Boston Harbor Island Alliance's efforts have helped to create an environmentally sustainable island.

Public Art Along the Waterfront
Meet at the Old Northern Avenue Bridge next to the Moakley Courthouse as The Boston Harbor Association leads a tour of public art along Boston’s waterfront. Tour ends at the ICA, which is open until 9 p.m. Free, reservation required mail@tbha.org.

Fall Foliage Tour
Celebrate the first day of fall with a landscape tour highlighting the unique foliage at Eastport and West Podium Parks. Learn about the design elements which make these parks a popular destination for those in the Fort Point Channel area. Free, reservation required mail@tbha.org.

Panoramic Views of the Waterfront
Join The Boston Harbor Association on a tour to discover locations near the Fort Point Channel for panoramic views of the waterfront. Free, reservation required mail@tbha.org.

HarborWalk Along the Fort Pont Channel

Meet at 253 Summer Street for a guided tour of neighborhood parks, views of the Boston skyline, and learn about one of the region’s largest industrial facilities, the Gillette Company on Fort Point Channel. Free, reservation required mail@tbha.org.

2011 First Night on the Waterfront

The Boston Harbor Association and First Night Boston
Special events and promotions are planned along Boston’s waterfront for New Year’s Eve, thanks to support from Boston Mayor Thomas M. Menino and the City of Boston.

Learn about shipwrecks and lobster rolls on the Downtown tour which begins at Christopher Columbus Waterfront Park, or start at the InterContinental Hotel and get an insider’s view of the Fort Point Channel. Free Thursday Nights at ICA
Thursday nights are free at the ICA, thanks to Target. Check out the museum’s outstanding collection of contemporary and innovative art from around the world.

Neponset River Greenway Festival

Enjoy free guided bike, canoe, and walking tours to learn about the history of the Greenway effort and plans for the trail’s completion. Watch free films outside under the stars on Tuesdays and Thursdays as part of the Family Movie Series. Sign up for a canoeing adventure, whether you are a beginner or an expert. Don’t miss magicians, storytellers, reptile shows, and musicians in family events.

  • Summer Soul on Tuesday Nights
    Through 31 August, 6 – 10 p.m.

    Sway to some live soul music under the stars at the Boston Harbor Hotel. Good company, good music, great waterfront view—nothing’s better than letting loose on the harbor.

    Through 1 September, 6 – 10 p.m.

    Nothing to do on a Wednesday night? Dance away to Timeless Tunes, featuring classic entertainment from the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s. Come down to the waterfront and get your groove on to some free jams!

  • Blues Barge on Thursday Nights
    Through 2 September, 6 – 10 p.m.

    Check out some of the hottest local and national blues artists as they perform on a floating stage anchored behind the Boston Harbor Hotel.

  • Movies by Moonlight on Friday Nights
    Through 3 September, starts at dusk

“HarborWalk Sounds” at the ICA
Thursdays, 6 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

Enjoy free music on the HarborWalk at the Institute of Contemporary Art. July’s lineup features mandolinist and bluegrass star Sierra Hull, Latin folk-inspired Tais Alvarenga, old-school bluesy Pinchback Blues, and many more! Boston’s waterfront is home to many examples of public art by local and national artists. Unique sculpture, paintings, displays, and interpretive signage can be found along the harbor in Boston’s six waterfront neighborhoods.
