“Hoist, Heave & Haul: Simple Machines at Sea”
Hull Lifesaving Museum, Hull
Ever wondered how much fun oars, boat ramps, blocks, and rudders can be? Head over to the Hull Lifesaving Museum to experience the new, eye-opening, hands-on exhibit, “Hoist, Heave & Haul: Simple Machines at Sea”. Experiment and invent at design stations throughout the new family-friendly exhibit, which runs through Fall 2011.
“Travels Through Africa”
Grand Circle Gallery, Fort Point Channel
Through July 30, 2011, the gallery will display more than 30 posters featuring Northern Africa (with an emphasis on Egypt), Safari Africa, and Colonial Africa, as well as airline and steamship travel to the continent. Visitors will also be able to view authentic African artifacts, tribal costumes and jewelry, and vintage luggage tags specific to the region. The gallery will host craft demonstrations and music and dance performances to celebrate and commemorate the exhibit.

sculpture, paintings, displays, and interpretive signage can be found
