Donovan's Beach

New access to Donovan's Beach

This small "inner harbor" beach primarily serves the nearby neighborhood by providing a small area of open space along Pleasant Street. The mudflat-like conditions limit swimming at this beach, but the area provides access to the shoreline and views of Crystal Cove. Owned by the town of Winthrop, this sand and pebble beach has wonderful views of the Boston skyline.

Access: There is pedestrian access from nearby neighborhoods to the Beach, but no parking. Donovan's Beach is also accessible via the MBTA Blue Line, and is located near the Orient Heights stop, close to Winthrop Beach. Take the bus to the Winthrop Beach stop and walk the remaining distance to Donovan's Beach.
