Boston Harbor Islands : Spectacle Island Beach

In June 2006, Boston Harbor’s newest beach on Spectacle Island opened to the public, with supervised swimming available daily during the summer to Labor Day. Summer, 2009, swimmers welcomed much-needed changing stalls and outdoor showers next to the beach. The visitor’s center has interactive exhibits and comfortable seating areas. Beginning in 2009, Jasper White’s Summer Shack is operating the food concession facility within the visitor’s center.

Access: Spectacle Island is accessible by ferry from Long Wharf, Boston. For ferry schedules, please visit www.bostonislands.com or call 617-223-8666.
